Tips for BGG.CON Booth?

Hi all! I just self-published my first game this past July, and now I've purchased my first exhibitor booth at a board game convention: I'm headed to BGG.CON 2026 in Dallas, TX!

Very excited to get my game out there, but now I need to figure out how to make my game stand out. I've never been to a board game convention before so I'm really coming in blind. For anyone that's attended many conventions before (or BGG.CON in particular), either as an attendee or an exhibitor, I'm looking for some answers to a few different questions:

* What are some of your favorite exhibitor experiences set up by a new game company?
* If you've run a booth before, what are the key things to remember to bring to the booth?
* As a new designer, is it worth bringing a whole palette of boxes or is it better to just bring a few and spread awareness?
* I'd really like attendees to try out the game if they get the chance, do exhibitors typically create spaces for play at the booths or do they give out copies to people to play in the play hall, and if so how many copies should I reserve for that?

If you're headed to BGG.CON 2026 I'd also love to connect, excited to meet people in the industry! Leave a comment or send a DM, would love to meet up and play a game or ten!
