Fixed my A/C with zero experience
Woke up to almost 90 degree warmth in the house. I live in the deep southeast. Fan wouldn't spin on the outside ac unit. Decided to try to decode the problem through YouTube videos. Called 4 AC places but because it was Saturday (not today) I was looking at $150 minimum service fee. Discovered it could be the "capacitor" whatever that is and called every hardware store in the area. I have a 5 year old so I needed to fix it or get a hotel. Finally found a place 25 minutes away that had the right model for my unit. 30 minutes of YouTube and 15 scary electrical minutes later, fixed it for $28. With my wife's help of course
