🌧️ Bangkok declared all 50 of its districts disaster zones after nearly 300 mm of rain fell over three days, flooding roads and canals and sending water into homes and shops.
Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said the city was pumping water out, but canals were full. Officials said water could take two or three days to drain if further rain stopped.
🚧 The flooding disrupted road travel, with vehicles stranded on submerged routes. Bangkok offered free MRT park-and-ride parking through 2 October for residents moving cars to higher ground.
The low-pressure system that brought the persistent rain shifted north-west on Sunday, easing the downpour over Bangkok, though wider flood risks remained across parts of Thailand.
