Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) #RetroReview
In the late 70s, the famous George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, who shared their fanaticism for B movies and the thriller and detective series of the 1930s and 1940s, got together with Lawrence Kasdan to create the bases for Los Raiders of the Lost Ark, a film that in a certain way brought together the characteristics of all those old films and series. The film temporarily set precisely in those decades became a nostalgic trip to the past, where those old films had awakened the imagination with their heroes, strong and brave men, who risked their lives in paradisiacal and exotic locations fighting against a bad man to save a girl or recover a treasure, almost always both. This combination was perfect, giving the general cinema public the return of the old heroes and villains already out of fashion, which contrasted markedly with the dark, nuanced and very cynical protagonists that dominated cinema during the 70s. This was undoubtedly one of the most important contributions of Raiders of the Lost Ark to the world of cinema, the film meant a resurgence of the simplistic (but effective) vision of the world of the fight of Good against Evil.
