Run the A/C first so room can cool down then turn on the fan to circulate cold air
Wanted to share a frugal life hack that I just discovered that will save electricity bills in summers. Earlier I used to used to turn on the ceiling fan and A/C at the same time in order to make my room cool faster but I realised it would take hours, now I run the A/C first let it run for 15-20 minutes to completely cool the room first and then turn it off and turn on the fan.
The fan then just re circulates the already cool air back in the room for a couple hours and I don't have to keep the A/C running all day to feel cold, it gives a wind chill kind of effect. Bonus if you have blackout curtains that block sun/heat too.
This is because hot air rises above so air trapped above the ceiling fan gets pushed down again and again without getting a chance to cool down first.
