I can understand why youโre confused though โ my background is a bit of a mix. ๐I was born in Mozambique, my parents are Madeiran Portuguese, and I was raised in South Africa. ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ต๐น๐ฟ๐ฆ So Portuguese would be my native language, while growing up in South Africa is why I also speak English and Afrikaans.
South Africa is very much the place that shaped me, even though I now live in Portugal. ๐
