Trump Heads to Miami to Face Criminal Charges

On Monday, former US Pres. Donald Trump touched down in Miami, Fla., where Tuesday he is expected to face federal criminal charges related to his retention of classified documents after his presidency. [1]
Trump, who faces 37 charges, including obstruction and unlawful retention of defense information, is scheduled to appear Tuesday at the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Courthouse, where he will be booked and processed prior to his court appearance. [2]
After processing, Trump will hear the charges against him and enter his plea. The judge will then determine whether there will be any travel restrictions, restraining orders, or bail. [3]
Law enforcement agencies have been preparing for potential violence related to the court appearance, with fencing and barricades constructed near the courthouse and the Miami-Dade police offering their assistance. [4]
Through an aide, Trump said he plans to return to New Jersey to deliver public remarks Tuesday night at his gold resort in Bedminster N.J. [5]
