Some people I’ve known think everyone has them in mind, and are prone to take offense or feel complimented by comments they misconstrue to be about them in some way. My family’s slim black lab mix named Sheena was like this. Once, soon after I got my driver’s license, I was parallel parking. Sheena was in the backseat. My sister sitting shotgun could see the curb out her side window and was directing me as I inched in. “Back.. back.. back.. back.. back.. etc”. Finally in place I shut off the ignition. We turned, and to our dismay saw that Sheena had climbed behind the seats to lean her body against the back window of the car. She was as far back as she could go... Another time I could hear my mom on the phone in the kitchen. At one point she exclaimed loudly, ”OH THAT Makes me SO HAPPY!” I immediately heard Sheena who was napping in another part of the house begin batting her tail against the floor. She may not be there with mom, but if mom was happy it was obviously about Sheena. Anyone else had a pet assume it’s about them, and take unintended directions, credit or blame etc? #animals source
