Mini Split A/C unit. Is Name Brand ever worth it?
I'm in a Transit 148 and I didnt have the real estate on the roof for an AC unit with the fan and 700w of solar, but I'm in the Southwest so I need/want an AC. My roof layout was shaped by the knowledge that mini split systems existed so this has always been intended.
I'm about to pull the trigger but I just can't help but feel that I'm about to pay a lot of money for just a name.

For grins and giggles I checked what Amazon was offering in the realm of 12v mini splits and found quite a few around $600. I'm guessing these are chinese knock-offs but youtube is full of anecdotal reviews saying that they're working as intended.
Does anyone have experience with "off-brand" A/C? Bad idea, worth it, agnostic?
