Born on Smaller Islands and Still There as an Adult
Inspired by a similar thread posted here. For those born on the smaller islands…what keeps you there? The small town life? Nature? Did you move away for school work, but then went back? Is getting a job difficult?
The idea of having to travel back/forth to Oahu to visit a medical specialist (if applicable) is hard for me to fathom doing long term. But people do it all the time!
There is no real structure to this post. Mostly I’m just looking to hear perspectives of life from people who chose to live their whole lives on the smaller islands.
If you’re originally from Oahu/Maui/Hawaii island but moved to one of the others, you can chime in as well.
