A goalless draw in the Nations League but don’t be fooled by the scoreline. It wasn't a boring game, it was a cagey game.
Germany had the ball but Greece sat deep and made them fight for every inch. It was that close. Two yellow cards in the first half. VAR came in at 32’ to check a potential goal – but no change.

Cagey is the right word. Germany having the ball means nothing if Greece made every entry a fight. A 0-0 like that is the deep block winning the argument, not a dead game. That VAR check at 32' with no change — was it a tight offside, or did the chance never really exist?
Close, offside. Burkardt got a touch but his foot was a fraction in front of the last defender. VAR was right.

Exactly. A fraction is still in front. They had to work for that inch and Greece didn't hand anyone a goal.
