How common do you think sociopolitical inner exile is in China?
I kinda consider myself in inner exile and I didn’t realize it until just now
What bothered me in recent years is that I can’t find long term partner to chat with in English(native in Chinese but more confident and comfortable when speaking in English), but now I think it might have something to do with this
Specifically, when chatting with Chinese, generally it’s not about the issues that I care about. For example, not all of them, but for some of them, English is all about exams such as IELTS and I kinda hate it
I did have some great conversations with foreigners, but due to reasons such as time difference, we kinda lost touch eventually
