I’ve played Zombicide and Arcadia Quest, which are currently my only dungeon crawler-style board games and, as a result, my favorites lol I’d love to explore more games in the genre, but dungeon crawlers can feel a little intimidating to introduce to newer players. Because of that, I’m curious to hear from people who have played a wider variety of them.
**Which version of Zombicide would you recommend for beginners, and why?**
I currently own Zombicide 1st Edition and several Arcadia Quest boxes, but I’m open to picking up something new if there’s a better entry point for beginners. My goal is to gradually get my group comfortable with dungeon crawlers mechanics.
For some context, I recently introduced this group to social deduction blood on the clocktower. At first, they struggled with concepts like dead players still playing in the game, but after a few games they learned it and now play it the way it’s intended to be played. Because of that experience, I don’t think they’re opposed to complexity. They just seem to do best when they can build up to heavier games over time.
Bonus question: What are some other beginner-friendly dungeon crawlers that you’d recommend?
