I read the screenplay of ‘In Bruges’ by Martin McDonagh
I’m an aspiring screenwriter. In Bruges is among my favorite films.
In Bruges is a black comedy about two hit-men - Ray and Ken, hiding out in the picturesque Belgian town of Bruges awaiting instructions from their Boss.
I was rather surprised with just how faithful the film is to the screenplay. McDonagh’s uniquely mordant tone is excellently conveyed in text. I can also appreciate the interpretation of the screenplay by the actors involved. This would include the likes of Colin Ferrell, Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes who are indeed masters of their craft.
I’ll be reading The Banshees of Inisherin next.
