“ As a young boy, I was never attracted to spending big and flaunting wealth, instead, I always said that, if I become rich, I will use my wealth to change the world and make it a better place.
This made my friends ask me questions like, does that mean you wont buy a Rolex, or a mansion, or expensive shoes etc.
And at first I said yes, but I then realized that, the products help in networking and building a reputation, and so, my answer changed to, I will buy good looking average products and even knock offs but I wont spend my money on expensive luxury goods.
And they usually cornered me with the question of what kind of car are you going to buy, since the price and quality of cars is usually known to most.
And at first, I had to admit that I would have to buy a luxury car for prestige and networking.
But after giving it a thought, I got the insight that, what most impresses people in luxury cars isn't the technical qualities such as the engines power, the excellent suspensors etc. but the aesthetics such as how it looks, its size etc.
So after this insight, I changed my views, and told them that I would get a bunch of engineers to design and make me a luxury looking car with a normal engine and other normal parts.
And they still argued that getting those engineers to create the car is still going to be super expensive and what I usually replied was, my goal is not to look rich, its to change the world.
And that in the new societal model I am creating, cars will be few since most short distance transportation will take place through the internet of transportation which will consist of small tunnels that allow pods to transport goods and people (they are transported while lying down on the pod.)
And long distance transportation will take place through buses, trains and aero planes.
And from there we would just argue about how the internet of transportation is better than cars and vice versa.
What's your thoughts? Would you use an internet of transportation if available? Or would you still go with your car?”
