Jesus teaches: "Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." These words form the foundation of authentic Christian living.
Denying oneself is not self-destruction but liberation from the egoism that imprisons us. Taking up the cross is not seeking suffering but accepting with love the trials that fidelity to Christ brings. Following Jesus means making Him the center of our entire existence.
What does it concretely mean to deny yourself in your daily life? What attachments or fears prevent you from following Christ with total freedom? Surrender them to the Lord today and discover the true life that comes only through the cross.

My selfless Lord, You walked the path of the cross before commanding us to follow. Free me from every fear of suffering and help me see beyond the hardships to the glory that awaits.
