September 27, 2025... #iwasthere at the Andaz West Hollywood , Sunset Blvd , West Hollywood , to meet a schoolfriend who, with his wife and another couple, had spent three weeks riding the length of Route 66 from Chicago, IL . to Santa Monica, CA . on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. They recuperated for a few days in the Los Angeles area before returning to the UK. We hadn't seen each other since leaving [high] school.
"How did we get so old," he asked, smiling.
"The passage of time," I replied, chuckling.
"It's like we only spoke last week," he said.
IMHO, that's the way it should be ✌️

We followed different paths after school but reconnected via FB a few years ago. He mentioned he was travelling Route 66 when I thanked him for his birthday wishes in September, so, after establishing he was heading west, arranged to meet. Too good an opportunity to miss after 44 years!
