There is NO missing dollar! The math misleads you by adding the bellboy's stolen $2 to the $27 paid. In reality: Total paid by guests ($27) = Hotel revenue ($25) + Bellboy's pocket ($2). You subtract the $2 to get $25, rather than adding it to reach $30!
