Did learning C actually make you better at Java/software engineering?

I’m currently learning C through CS50 while also learning Java/backend development. I’ve noticed C forces you to think more about memory, strings, arrays, debugging, representations, etc. For people who later moved into Java (or any language) professionally, did learning C noticeably help your thinking/problem solving, or did it eventually feel completely different?
