A CLOSER LOOK AT THE CAT’S EYE NEBULA 🐱✨
NASA, through the Hubble Space Telescope, shared a clearer and more detailed image of the Cat's Eye Nebula—a bright cloud of gas and dust released by a dying star about 4,400 light-years away from Earth.
According to NASA, the telescope focused on the center of the nebula and showed many layered rings of gas and “dense knots,” which likely formed when the star released material several times during the final stages of its life.
The space agency further explained that these layers act like a “cosmic ‘fossil record’,” helping scientists understand what happened to the star as it slowly died. (Instagram/Hubble Space Telescope)
