Translation errors in Minas matchbox by yoko Ogawa?
I recently picked up Mina’s Matchbox and am seeing some inconsistencies. I was wondering if others have come across them. I am reading the version translated by Stephen Snyder.
**Error one**
Synopsis of the book mentions that Mina is 13 while Tomoko is 12. Yet in the actual book it seems that Tomoko is older.
**Error two**
When referring to the founder of Fressy, Tomoko calls him “my grandfather”.
Are these stylistic or merely translation errors? I haven’t seen any mention of this anywhere.
