Ishiguro and the Nobel Prize
I really enjoy Ishiguro's work, especially *Remains of the Day*; *Never Let Me Go*; and *Nocturnes*. That said, I am surprised that he received the Nobel Prize. Ishiguro strikes me as a skillful storyteller and writer, but there is nothing *remarkable*, from my perspective, that makes him deserving of one of the highest honors of literature. There are other writers who I do not enjoy reading as much personally (i.e. Gabriel García Márquez), yet understand *why* they received it.
Any thoughts here?
