Good eye! It’s actually the Capela de Nossa Senhora do Socorro (Chapel of Our Lady of Help), built back in 1603. It was commissioned by Gaspar Manoel, a sea pilot on the routes to India, China, and Japan. He was so inspired by the oriental temples and architecture he saw on his ocean voyages that he incorporated those distinct dome influences into the chapel's design! 🏛️✨
It kinda looks like our mosque domes, thanks for sharing a glance from Portugal 🫶😍🦋🥰❤️🌹
