I just rode the furthest I've ridden on a bike in almost…

I just rode the furthest I've ridden on a bike in almost two decades! 5.5 miles!

Getting to this point was not so simple or easy!

What you will find out with my tenure on Tangled is that my birthday is usually rift with misfortune.

That is to keep me humble!

Last year I was sick with food poisoning which lead to a throat infection which stripped me of my ability to live stream and connect with the community in the ways I use too.

Recovery took months but eventually I recovered as one does.

This year my car died. The other tragedies are private and will remain censored. All I'll say is things were pretty devastating involving work, life, family.

The car dying seemed like the least of my worries. Instead of heading out and taking a loan for a new car I told myself I would rather bike to work.

My job is about 6 miles away from where I live.

I believe if I am strategic with traveling I could just get an Ebike and save money and work on my fitness!

Of course getting the bike was no easy feat and putting it together came with plenty of it's own complications.

For example one of the damn pedals they sent me for the bike was stripped and didn't fit onto the bike itself!

My first attempt taking the bike out lead to sever knee pain from putting my weight on one leg without the second pedal to help me switch back and forth.

I began to wonder if I should melt candle wax to try and get the stripped pedal onto the bike or maybe pull out the torch and see if I can melt it...

Eventually I realized I could look for a replacement online (it took me a day to really land on the idea) I finally ordered and had the replacement sent and got it attached properly!

I was able to finally take this machine out and give it a whirl!

I rode for 4 miles before I realized I should be checking on the status of the bike.

I pulled up to a passing couple walking and asked them to check my tires and tell me if they looked flat!

They told me straight up I was a whale and the bike was struggling to lift off the ground!

Haha, I said "Ah! no problem." and turned around to go home haha. I will try putting some more air in the tires but it looks like I will probably need to get some kind of new wheel or tube, either way I am slowly going to have to upgrade my first ebike into something I can travel on safely!

Hehe how cool would it be if I got a helmet that I could put a camera on and I could upload my travels? Maybe a possible vlog evolution in the future? Haha maybe I could monolog or put some cool Wavel music over the videos?

Anyway, If i don't lose my mind and push the bike to the back of my mind I should be using it most days so hopefully I can get some pictures up for you guys to look at lol

Anyway It's a lot easier for me than riding a traditional bike with how old I am now lol but I think it's a positive direction for my overall activity and health and hope this can lead to greater benefits in the future!

I will try and be accountable - look forward to updates!

That’s a huge win, 5.5 miles after everything you had to work through is seriously impressive! 👏🚴‍♂️

Love how you turned all those setbacks into forward motion instead of stopping completely. Even the “chaos phase” of bike building sounds like a story on its own. 😄

This feels like a really solid step in a positive direction. Looking forward to your updates and future rides! 💪

Thank you so much for the positive encouragement. I feel like a quitter even though I am still pushing through. I feel like I have to be extra careful as my whole family is watching me and I am trying to lead by example and show them that if we will it we can make a path. My story may not be impressive to others, but I am thankful everyday I can push through all the different tribulations placed before me.
