Why do people cry when reading the Kite Runner?
What I want to focus primarily on is the ending. When we read it in English class people actually started legitimately crying. I understand that it's quite poetic, but I never got why it triggered such strong emotions. Amir flies a kite and tells Sohrab 'for you, a thousand times over', cool. So what? Exactly what does Hosseini do to make people teary-eyed and what is the thought process behind their decision to feel so much?
