Just got the console a week ago, disappointed with the refund policy.
So I was debating whether to get Helldivers 2 or Warhammer 40k: Darktide. I settled on getting Hell Divers 2 since I have already played Darktide extensively on Xbox, and although its one of my favorite games I figured I could try something new while its on sale (cheaper than Darktide).
I can see Helldivers 2 is a great game but it took me only an hour to realize I would rather be playing Darktide due to the combat. So I think "Hey, I can just refund it and get Darktide. I played less than 2 hours!"
\*\*Wrong.\*\* Apparently if you even \*download\* a game after purchasing it you are ineligible for a refund. This seems like a very anti-consumer and I think if Sony is going to keep it in place then they should provide demos especially for the games they publish.
Lesson learned that I need to be certain I will enjoy playing any games I purchase from PSN. This dissuades me from trying new games on Playstation and I think that is unforunate. I really think letting gamers try a game out with a 2 hour game time grace period on refunds should be the industry standard and hope Sony will one day change their policy or be forced to due to government regulation.
On a positive note, I will say that the Playstation exclusives I've been playing like Spiderman and Ratchet and Clank are really awesome. And I genuinely believe the controller is the best console controller of all time.
