We all want world changing features to be built, but we spend a lot of our time solving boring problems. You may notice that the URLs for content items on Tangled Social look like tangled.com/c/[a long hash]. The /c tells the system that content is being requested and the long hash identifies what content and which server its located on. In the past 18 hours we noticed that new user registrations were suspiciously low. New users are sent an email with a verification link. The link looks like tangled.com/[a long hash]. We discovered that when that long hash starts with the letter "c" or "g" the system thinks it's a link for content, which doesn't exist, and the verification link breaks 😲. It's fixed now, but it exemplifies why feature progress can be painfully slow.
