Title kind of says it all. I am no stranger to infinite run-on sentences, break-less writing, gushing stream of consciousness... whatever you want to categorize his style as.
I have read all of Becketts novels twice over, Senseless by Moya, got through most of Melancholy of Resistance, and a few other monsters but nothing quite as endlessly written as Bernhard's work.
Just curious how people endure his novels, or if anyone has any advice, like where and "how" to take a break when needed. Molloy, for example, probably one of my most beloved novels, at least has one break in the middle, but is definitely shorter overall. I am at least able to set a portion of a day off work to comfortable enjoy half of it.
Probably worth mentioning I own Extinction, Correction and Gathering Evidence. I was thinking maybe reading Gathering Evidence would give me more insight, but who knows. Not sure where they rank on "difficulty" etc.
