Why do I think I’m safer doing dangerous things than my adult kids doing the same?
Basically the title, but to clarify: I’m 57F. I’m in good shape, pretty strong, decent balance. I will do things that are arguably a little risky, but feel pretty confident in doing them. For example, cutting tree limbs from a 25 ft ladder.
My son, 26M, very athletic, offers to do it and it just feels way too dangerous. How does that even make sense? Realistically I know he is the better candidate for doing it- but my brain is much more confident I’m not going to fall and die. #conversation source
