Yakutsk is the capital city of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), in Russia. It's located in eastern Siberia and is known as one of the coldest cities in the world. Winter temperatures often drop below −40°C (−40°F), and the city experiences a subarctic climate. Despite its harsh weather, Yakutsk is a significant administrative, cultural, and economic hub for the region, particularly due to its location near large deposits of natural resources like diamonds, gold, and coal.
