HJC i80 ‘quality’…
Hello guys!
Just want to share some experience on the quality of the HJC i80 helmet, in case anybody is thinking to buy it.
I bought the helmet this year april 12, and I was very happy with it, as it’s very comfortable for me, the ventilation is very good. I did not have a crash with it, it didnt even fall down from the bike.
I went for a Trail ride, and after the first ride the screws of the top shield got loose, no problem added some glue, no problem. At the second ride, I noticed that the sunglass is not really Coming down it gets jammed half way, and I have to Help it with hand ever since.
Last weekend I noticed some strange noises when riding, when I found out that the pin of the openable chin part just fell out, so it could not be closed properly. This is very dangerous as in case of a crash the face is not protected at all, even if it’s double homologizated….
Plus one thing, the matte finish on the top of the helmet is going bubbly (after 25 hours of riding)
I contacted the shop I bought, but they need to send it to HJC, and in that time i wouldnt have a helmet. Once I went through a process with another helmet C it took 1.5 months. I tried writing HJC to Help my problem, but they didnt even gave an answer.
I rode around 25 hours in the helmet, and these are the problems with it…. I think this is unacceptable for a \~300 EUR helmet. Its unacceptable even for a 100EUR helmet.
My friend made me a new pin for the chin part, but I’m overally not statisfied with the Quality and the customer care at all.
Next time I’ll be choosing other brand for sure.
