March 15 is a national holiday in Hungary. Hungarians…

March 15 is a national holiday in Hungary.
Hungarians commemorate the anniversary of the outbreak of the 1848–49 revolution and war of independence.
Commemorations are held across the country on the occasion of the national holiday. In the capital, the festive commemoration traditionally began on Kossuth Square, where, in addition to a military salute, the Hungarian flag was raised in the presence of President Tamás Sulyok. The festive program begins at 1 p.m. on Kossuth Square, with a speech by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. The Peace March supporting the government, which will depart from Buda at 11 a.m., will also arrive at the square for the ceremony. ❤️🇭🇺❤️

This year’s event is also a historic moment, as it is intended to demonstrate the strength and unity of the right-wing community ahead of the 2026 parliamentary elections.

In recent years, the Peace March has become one of the strongest symbols of Hungarian national unity. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said Sunday’s event is of utmost importance, as the future of Hungary and its commitment to peace are at stake.

Do you celebrate this event in any way or do you only watch it on TV?

I'm watching it on TV. This is a very important day for the future of Hungary and the Hungarian people.

I couldn't travel to Budapest, although it would be a wonderful feeling to be there now. There are so many people, never before have so many true Hungarians gone to the peace march. ❤️
