Looking to purchase first handgun for home defense/range fun - overwhelmed by the choices
Hi all, looking for some suggestions on what 9mm handguns to consider as my first (potentially only - at least that's what I told the wife...for now lol) gun. Ultimately I am going to hold the final candidates in my hand, and hopefully rent them at the local range, before making the final decision, but there are so many options out there that I am not sure what to even look at.
I plan to use this for home defense and range fun. I wear a size small glove and my wife has shown some interest in training at the range with it as well, so a gun that fits well in small hands is at the top of the requirement list. With that said, I do not plan to carry, so I don't need something that is unnecessarily small/compact - just something that can fit well in small hands.
In addition to that, something reliable and easy to maintain is also on the requirement list.
No set budget...under $1,500 all in with a RDS is preferable but can stretch it.
A list of guns I have already tested out:
* Walther PDP F (tried this out - really enjoyed how I could hit the slide and mag release buttons without having to stretch my thumb or twist my grip to reach, but it felt a little light and didn't love the way it felt when shooting)
* Sig P365 Macro (tried this out - liked the weight and feel of this gun. The buttons weren't position as well as the PDP F, but not a showstopper. One of the top contenders for me, but concerned it is unnecessarily small for my needs)
* Glock 43X (tried this out - solid gun and I know Glocks make sense from a modification/maintenance perspective, and as someone's first gun, but I liked the ergos of the PDP F and the weight/feel of the Sig better. Also maybe unnecessarily small since I am not carrying.)
* Staccato C2 (tried this out - no surprise here that I was most accurate with this one and really enjoyed it, but not sure it makes sense as a first gun and I feel like maintenance on it is probably difficult)
