Unable to do as much as I'd like for Pesach and feeling bad about it
This year I'm in a somewhat complex situation in my life - working many hours a week including Shabbat, having to study on top of my job, constant physical and mental exhaustion. I actively chose to take on more work and more study because I knew it would improve my job prospects come next autumn, and as things stand right now it is very likely that I will finally get a teaching post with a permanent contract in September thanks to these efforts, a job which among other things will give me some much needed stability and finally allow me to start being more observant again - which makes me really happy, obviously.
Unfortunately, though, because of my lack of time and constant exhaustion my efforts to prepare for Pesach half-decently this year are failing spectacularly - realistically, I won't have time to clean the kitchen really well, kashering the kitchen is going to be completely unrealistic, and while I'm not Orthodox (so perfect halachic observance was never in the cards) Pesach is my favorite holiday of the year and I like to make it as meaningful as possible, which clearly isn't going to be entirely possible this time around. Is anyone else in the same boat? I'm not sure if I'm looking for some positivity or just to commiserate, but I thought I'd feel better by sharing - right now I'm frustrated and quite disappointed, and I'm feeling like I'm "failing" the holiday. #religion source
