Lug a new Japanese rice cooker back to LA or buy Japanese made rice cooker in America

Growing up in Taiwan, I’ve always been told electronics made in japan are more reliable and cheap. I still feel this way about most of not all products made in japan (could be placebo ofc). I seriously do think the rice made in my japanese rice cooker in Taiwan tastes much better than my American Zojirushi. I’m currently debating if I should by a Japanese rice cooker to bring back to LA. It’s way cheaper (exchange rate plus tax free) and my current one is all scratched up and I need a replacement.

Japanese appliances are 100V and LA is 120V. They mostly make 220V for European customers, but it’s quite difficult to find any for 120V. I could be a step-down convertor for \~$70, but it makes more sense to just buy the rice cooker in the states.

If anyone has any experience or input I would super appreciate it! Lmk! Also lmk if I’m crazy to think Japanese models make better rice lol
