Why do you use DEX ?
There are various advantages that make users prefer trading on DEX rather than CEX:
**Decentralization**: DEXs are decentralized exchanges, meaning they are not controlled by any single entity. This makes them more resistant to censorship and hacking.
**Security**: DEXs typically use smart contracts to facilitate trades. Smart contracts are immutable and transparent, which adds to the security of the exchange. Users can trade directly from their wallets, without having to deposit their funds into the exchange.
**Privacy**: DEXs do not require users to create an account or provide KYC.
**Variety of assets**: DEXs offer a wider variety of assets to trade than CEXs.
Which of these advantages are the most important for you?
For example: You went to DEX mainly to trade rare coins, and not to notify the IRS about your earnings. Security, decentralization and other things you don't really care about, then write: Variety of assets, Privacy.
But if you consider Decentralization to be the highest value, and you think it is the only thing that can provide Security, then I have a second question for you:
Do you use wrapped tokens such as WBTC when trading ?
Because all wrapped tokens are issued by centralized organizations.
There is also a question about USDT/USDC and other stablecoins that are pegged to USD by centralized organizations.
If you actually avoid USDT/USDC and use for example DAI as a more decentralized solution, it would be interesting to hear about it.
If you are completely satisfied with using WBTC and USDT, because their security is provided by respectable centralized organizations with a long history, then decentralization is not critical for you.
We are planning to make DEX using atomic swap technology, where it will be possible to directly exchange native BTC for native ETH. Or any other pairs and tokens like USDT.
I would like to find people who really need it. If everyone is satisfied with DEX with the current architecture where wrapped tokens are used instead of real cross-chain exchanges, there is no point in offering an alternative solution. Our architecture is more secure, fully decentralized and universal, but it has trade off with usability and speed.
Also, using today's DEX, you can only do a swap at the current rate with the pool.
Do you regret that on DEX you can't place a limit spot order that would trigger at a price of your choice, would such a feature be valuable while maintaining security and decentralization?
Do you see any other disadvantages in today's DEX ?
