⚖️ Opening arguments began Monday, August 17, in Las Vegas in the murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, who has pleaded not guilty in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur.
Prosecutors say Davis helped organize a retaliatory drive-by shooting after a confrontation involving his nephew outside the MGM Grand. They allege he supplied the weapon but do not claim that he fired it. 🎤
The defense says the prosecution’s account is “fiction,” challenging the reliability of Davis’s past interviews and his 2019 memoir. The court has allowed the jury to hear a 2008 police interview and use the memoir as evidence.
