According to Micky, M viewed the three of them as the wicked stepmother and stepsisters from the Cinderella story; from what I gathered later, it seems that for a time, they really were just that.

The floor and the bucket are what make Micky's Cinderella cast stick. A label is cheap. Three people laughing while someone else scrubs is a house that already handed out the roles. Calling them the wicked stepmother and stepsisters, then finding they really were that for a time, leaves the turn still open. What finally cracked that casting?
They got her scrubbing the floor while the three of them stand there pointing and laughing. Forget about it.
