Yesterday I mentioned that ChatGPT-3 was the day Google died, and I still think that but I specifically meant the model of presenting results that link out and ads. When Google adjusts I don't think they will increase users, and I think they will decrease potential ad revenue.
there is a big dilemma in the Google Headquarters now. if they dont provide users direct answers to what they are looking for the users will move to other search engines and once they go it is way harder to bring them back. then, if they do provide users what they are looking for Google will see a tremendous revenue cut in ads rendering.
The real question is can Microsoft stay out of its own way and not cock it up before Google strikes back. I think they are only able to move as fast as OpenAI moves and Google is about to deploy a mammoth amount of resources at Lambda for their monopoly scale user base.
