GAMA Day 0.5
So I’m at GAMA expo for the first time. Here’s my take:
Arrived around noon ready to set up our booth and everything ran super smooth. The staff were friendly and very helpful and Louisville is a beautiful city.
As I walked around the exhibit hall, there were all the usual suspects (Asmodee, the OP, All play have a big presence) but there are lots of smaller companies too that have some really nice booth setups. I’ll post some pictures on Day 1 once all the booths are up and running.
After setup we went to grab a quick bite to eat (smash burger) and then headed back to the opening night reception . MC’d by Grant Lyon - he’s funny in a way board gamers only truly understand, like how you ask people what their favourite game is to decide if you want to be friends with them.
It’s amazing to see the LGS community and game publishers all coming together in this great partnership . There were some awards at the reception celebrating how many stores have made their place a sanctuary for the community they serve, giving back and welcoming everyone (as long as you will play games with us).
According to the list on BGG there are over 100 new games being previewed at GAMA. I’ll go find some of them during the show and report back.
