Indonesia's Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki erupted on Wednesday, October 15, shooting volcanic ash 10 kilometres into the sky, the country's volcanology agency said, forcing authorities to raise the alert system to its highest level.
Videos from an eyewitness showed a thick column of ash rising to the sky above the island of Flores where the volcano is situated.
