Ford Transit rear hinge capacity. Should I be concerned?
One of my final projects for this build is the A/C. I'm committed to a rear-mount mini split. For my build the condenser needs to be on the driver side rear door. My spare tire is also there as well.
I keep seeing conflicting information regarding hinge capacity. Many people put a single huge or multiple adventure boxes on the rear doors or even place a bar between open doors for pullups.
Ive seen people talking about "heavy duty hinges" but that seems to just come down to 180 degree hinges instead of 270 degree hinges. I don't actually see any "heavy duty" hinges.
Do I really even need to be concerned about the hinges? The condenser itself weights 50 lbs so it's not really much. I have stock tires currently and if I mount a safari rack with door support is that enough?
TLDR: looking to see what experience people have with attaching weight to the rear door hinges. #lifestyle source
