Has anyone read The Fixer by Malamu?
I'm reading my way through the Pulitzer Prize winners and just finished The Fixer. I would love to hear what anyone that has read the book thought about it.
For me, I really liked the beginning as it has a sort of Fiddler on the Roof vibe. But once he got put in prison the constant escalation of his bad treatment really bummed me out.
The ending surprised me but it had an unexpected satisfaction to it even though you never get to hear guilty or innocent.
Overall the accusation of guilt based on anything but evidence felt very relevant for today.
