He keeps following me. My family is having me evaluated. Help me, please. I'm not insane!
He keeps showing up in my house. I've searched high and low for a while. He'd be there when least expected. But now I think I got him where I want him.
I apologize if I'm hard to understand. Please, everyone, my mind isn't working right. It's working fine, I'm just stressed I mean.
I can't sleep. I can't eat.
Oh, how I yearn for the days before this all began.
It started when I was cleaning up my house twenty-seven days and eight hours ago.
It was the usual thing. I dust the many surfaces. Sweep. Mop the linoleum. Nothing crazy. Just build up to doing bigger things.
When I opened my basement door to clean the steps, I saw a man at the foot of my stairs just walking out of view from the base of the steps, disappearing around the partition wall.
I'm a tiny, five-two female. One hundred and twenty pounds.
The man I saw was easily two hundred and twenty pounds. Towering.
I slammed that door shut and ran out of the house fast as I could while dialing nine-one-one.
I get sick to my stomach thinking about it. Can he hear it in how I breathe?
I can't believe I'm posting here. I'm just so desperate.
They didn't find anyone. They didn't. I don't know how.
I swear on my parents' lives. My niece's life. I swear on what I saw.
Please, no comments about me being crazy. Please, I just can't deal with that.
Oh, my lord.
The helplessness I felt when the cops left. It took me so long to enter the house.
I didn't sleep for the first night. But nothing happened. So for the next couple days everything was normal.
Then on the seventeenth I was washing dishes. Listening to country. I turn around to put the big blue bowl in the cupboard, and I see the man is at the end of the hall. Staring at me. Then he walks around the corner.
You better believe I almost leaped out of my skin trying to get out of the house.
The cops came. Nothing. Again.
The neighbors started talking. By the third time, I was labeled crazy. Loony. Nutcase.
I can't explain how his eyes receive me. What it is he wants, behind those eyes. What does he want? What does he want!
My family is talking about taking me to be evaluated. I don't want to start new medication.
I've been missing work.
I'm watching the corner of my bedroom door. I know he's waiting around the corner. Down the hall. Waiting for me. So he can examine me with those dead fish eyes. Only to vanish when he's gotten what he needs. If he'd just tell me. Maybe that would make things more manageable.
Yes. Oh, yes! You see? It's all becoming clearer. Has anyone else on here experienced this? Has he visited you?
Yet, despite the clarity I have obtained, I feel tremendous dread.
Each day I have less and less hair to pull out. I could be going away for a while. Will he follow me? I stayed the night at my parents' place a week ago. He followed me there. That's when Mom really thought I lost my marbles.
But I got it all figured out. I think I understand this man.
I'm gonna spring a trap. It's set up.
That's why I'm in my bedroom. Watching. Waiting for him. Like he waits for me. If I trap him, I can prove that he's real.
And then I won't be going away.
That's why I'm here at my place. He shows up mostly here, in my house.
I saw him earlier today. But he was too quick for me.
So I'm sitting here in bed. Quietly typing out this post for you guys.
It's so quiet. If only you were here to feel it. Why doesn't he just break the silence! Why doesn't he just peek past the door frame? I think I hear him whispering.
Even when I saw him earlier today, I played it off like I didn't notice.
See? He doesn't understand my cleverness. He doesn't understand that he's the one who should be afraid of me.
The beatings I've taken over the years, growing up. The humiliation rituals in high school I was subjected to. Being cheated on over and over again. The loss of my precious baby. My stepfather. I've endured a lot.
If this man thinks he can just come into my house and make me feel uncomfortable, he's got another thing coming.
Oh, it's unbearable!
I feel weak. My skin is cold. I'm so hungry. But I can't move too much. I have to be aware, at all times.
My solution for going to the bathroom is a gray bucket next to my bed. This way I don't have to leave. I can just watch the doorway of my room. I wish I brought more water up here. But I can't move now.
I can feel him on the other side of the wall.
I really hope some of you know what to do. Please, help me. Oh, please. Please.
Please.
No. I'm not helpless. I'm not some damsel in distress. I'm not.
No.
My cleverness is too much for him.
I tricked my parents. I convinced them to just let me have some time to think. I even lied and said I know he's not real, just to buy some time.
If I can catch him. Even just a picture. A video. Something. But it'd be better to physically catch him. Then they'll see I'm not crazy, like everyone has been saying. How do I catch him though? He's a beast.
I mustn't doubt myself. Though, it's hard.
Ever since my friends have distanced themselves from me, I've been so alone.
I really hope you have something to say about all this. I'll post back with an update. Just writing this out has helped. Hopefully you'll have a better reaction than my parents and friends.
Being locked up in a psych ward. Me, in a psych ward. What if I never get out?
I can hear him, I think. Or was that just the house?
I wish I could eat or sleep.
This all feels like a nightmare. Like my body has a deep, fuzzy, static feeling. A disconnection. Like the world is just going about its normal business as I sit here, listening to him.
I just yelled that I can hear him. I think I scared him, because it's dead silent. No creaking floorboards.
Like I said, I'm clever.
And he's about to figure this out.
This is my house.
If I get a picture or if I somehow physically detain him, I'll upload as soon as possible and show you, so you know my sanity is intact.
I've got all my attention on the doorway.
I'm not crazy. Can't they see this?
Okay. If all goes well, I'll be back and update you all.
