Battle born GC3 LiFePO4 batteries?
Okay so I JUST learned about all the controversy surrounding battle born, the whole catching fire, melting plastic, will prowse, company gaslighting response, potential class action lawsuit drama.
Problem for me is…I just bought $4000 of these a few months ago. Before I learned about all this. I bought 2 of their BBGC3 270Ah 12V LioFePO4 Deep Cycle GC3 batteries.
I am wondering:
1. Do these batteries also have issues? Everything I can find online seems to be specifically about 100amp batteries, nothing on the 270amp ones.
2. What do y’all think I should do now? I’ve realized 540ah isn’t enough and I was planning on buying another to bring my battery supply up to 810ah.
I was thinking either:
A. Keep the 2 battle borns if this model doesn’t have known issues. Then should I buy a third battle born, or can I buy a different brand? Seems like I should go with Epoch. I just worry there may be connection issues?
B. Somehow make peace with trashing $4000 and buy 2 epoch 540ah batteries for $5500…
(For context, I have a “buy it for life” attitude with most things, where I sincerely believe I should just spend the money to buy the best so I don’t have to worry about quality issues later on. I had bought BB operating off my research from 3 years ago and believing them to be the best.
