PC gaming is only interesting to me in terms of modding and games that aren’t on console. With the steam machine coming out, should I just pray it’s worth it and get that? A gaming laptop? Build my own PC despite the RAM shortage? Get a steam deck and only play on my television? No, I’m not technical and sometimes barely literate, I like good graphics but running less than 60fps doesn’t give me an aneurysm so I’m unsure if doing a whole build is worth it for my limited funds and current scope. That of course could change once I’ve tasted the nectar of PC gaming but as a console guy what would be the best first step?
Edit since I missed some fine points: 1. Setting the steam machine as a baseline we can say between 1-2k price wise is what I’m working with. 2. I’m a stationary gamer for the most part so I’m not focusing on mobility. 3. As said above I’m interested in modding games and generally just messing around with existing mods. 4. I’m in the US. #technology source
