it strikes me as odd that companies like Resend are able to charge $20 per month for sending 50,000 emails. But for that money, hosting companies can serve up millions of pages views. Is there something I don't understand about the underlying infrastructure that means emails are more expensive to send than web pages?
If not, why not more competition in the space to drive the price down?
It seems mad to me that I'm looking at paying as much to send out a few marketing emails than I am to host my entire site.
Note: I'm not complaining here - I think Resend is good and they are free to charge whatever they like. Just curious about why it costs that much. #dev #technology #programming source
