Which Sydney homeware store has the best range for a proper dinner party?
Hosting my first "grown up" dinner party next month and I'm realising my current plate and glass situation is pretty tragic. Mismatched IKEA stuff that's seen better days. I want to upgrade but don't know where to start.
I'm looking for proper dinnerware that looks nice but won't completely destroy my budget. Someone at work mentioned Victoria's Basement has a huge range of brands like Wedgwood and Royal Doulton at decent prices. Also heard good things about Peter's of Kensington but not sure which one has better variety for dinnerware specifically.
Anyone bought a nice dinner set recently? Where from and how much did it set you back? Also any tips on what's actually essential vs nice to have? Do I really need soup bowls if I never make soup? Help a newbie out.
