In an attempt to blame bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies for the banking crisis in the United States, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Group of 20 (G-20) released a February document that warns about the supposed negative effects of crypto assets on the financial system.
The report, titled "Macrofinancial Implications of Crypto Assets," was released on Monday. Although it was elaborated last month at a summit that took place in India.
In the document, the organizations continued the repetitive slogan that "a generalized proliferation of crypto assets carries substantial risks", both for the monetary policy of nations, as well as for exchange rates and capital flow management measures, as they explain.

“The benefits [of cryptocurrencies] are theoretical, while the risks have already begun to materialize. Changes in central bank reserves and the financial safety net of the global market may be required, creating potential instability. Ultimately, banks may lose deposits and have to reduce lending," the document says.

Who dares to give the punchline of the joke? Or is this joke telling itself?
