Memorized Deck - If I can do it, so can you I've been thinking about learning the mneomic stack for a while now and never got around to doing it because I thought it would take a crazy amount of time and effort. I have a terrible memory so I was convinced I was in for a good month of flashcards and practice. Well, I followed the advice Juan Tamariz gives in Mneomica and I am blown away at how well it worked. I broke it up into two 2-hour sessions on Thursday and Friday (due to my availability and fatigue) and by the end I was able to successfully take a shuffled deck and put it in order with zero mistakes every time. In just 4 hours I got it down! I am so excited for the world of possibilities this now opens for me and my magic. I will continue to get more and more comfortable and familiar with the stack as I use it of course, but I am confident that I can come up with the right number/card every time now. So this post is to encourage anyone out there who is like me - you have a terrible memory, you're worried about the amount of time and effort it will take, you're wondering if it's worth it, etc. - to take the leap and memorize a deck stack of your choosing. You can do it, and if you dedicate the appropriate focus and follow a tried and true method, you can do it much quicker than you think.
